Samsung has begun deploying its Android 15-based One UI 7 update to its budget-friendly Galaxy A15 and A16 smartphones in South Korea.
The Galaxy A15 update arrives as firmware BYD5, which includes the March 2024 security patch, while the Galaxy A16 update comes as firmware BYE2 with the November 2024 security patch. Both bring One UI 7’s redesigned Quick Settings, refreshed app icons, and smarter notification management.
Despite being mid-range models, these phones miss out on Samsung’s full premium AI suite. However, early reports indicate that the Galaxy A16—and possibly the A15—already support the new Circle to Search feature, offering on-screen AI-driven search capabilities.
To update, users can head to Settings > Software update > Download and install. Samsung says the rollout will expand to Europe, North America, and other regions over the next few weeks.
